Do Pawn Shops Take BB Guns – ANSWERED!!

Brian McCracken

So you’ve got a BB gun but what do you do with it? Can you take it to a pawn shop for a loan or to see if they will just offer to buy it outright from you?
Well the truth of the matter is that when it comes to things like gun, even BB guns, not all pawn shops are really happy to work with them while others will take them in with arms wide open.
I wish there was a great, one-size-fits-all answer to this question that would satisfy everyone but unfortunately that’s just not really possible when it comes to this type of item and how your local pawn shop will deal with them.
Keeping that in mind, I’m not going to leave you hanging with nothing to take from this. That’s just not my style as you should well know by now.
Instead, what we are going to do here is look at what you can do to find a pawn shop in your area that will take in your BB gun and then examine what you can do to make sure that you get the most money possible for it when you do take it into the pawn shop.
There are many pawn shops that will take BB guns so it is worth calling around and asking.
How To Pawn A BB Gun
Okay, so let’s get down to the meat and potatoes of this as they say.
The first thing that you you are going to have to do is to find a pawn shop that will actually take a look at your BB gun to begin with.
Now, if you’re not sure how to go about doing that, don’t worry – it’s actually easier than you might imagine. But that having been said, there are a few things that you are going to have to do to make that happen.
The first thing you should do is to go over to and search the phrase ‘Local Pawn Shops.” What’s going to happen is that google is going to return a list of pawn shops in your area along with their addresses and phone numbers.
You will want to go down through that list, one by one, and call the pawn shops to see if they would be willing to take a look at your BB gun for a possible loan or sale.
As you come across pawn shops that are willing to look at it, make note of them and go through the list until you’ve found at least 2 or 3.
What you will want to do is to go to each of these shops and get offers on your BB gun so that you know that you are getting the best price possible for it. It’s called comparison shopping and people do it all the time and there’s no reason to not do it with pawn shops.
So now that you know how to go about actually finding a pawn shop that will look at your BB gun for a loan or to buy it, what’s next?
Well, you’ve got to put the odds in your favor in terms of trying to get the most money possible out of it that you can and there are some pretty easy and simply to follow rules to make that happen.
Clean It Up – This might seem like common sense but sadly there are a lot of people out there that don’t stop and clean their items before they take them into the pawn shop. When it comes to a BB gun, that most often means that you should wipe it down and remove any heavy marks and grim from it.
After that, you might consider putting a little oil on it and making sure that all of the parts and mechanisms are well lubricated. This is something that you should probably be doing anyways, but particularly before you take it into a pawn shop. By lubricating it you are going to help ensure that it operates and smoothly as possible and therefore will probably look more desirable to the pawn broker when they are inspecting it.
Unload It – This is another one of those things that a lot of people may not think about doing but make sure that you unload your BB gun before you take it into the pawn shop.
Some pawn brokers may get pretty upset with you if you take a loaded gun into their store, even if it is just a BB gun.
Now with that in mind, it may not be a bad idea to make sure that you take a few BB’s with you in case the pawn shop wants to test fire it to make sure that it works properly. But keep them in your pocket and not in the gun itself.
Following just these two simple tips should help you have the most favorable pawning experience possible.
