Do Pawn Shops Buy Speakers – ANSWERED!

Pawn

So do you have some speakers that you are thinking about selling? They are a pretty common item to try to sell to a pawn shop and if you are looking for someplace to sell them to, a pawn shop may not be a bad idea.
That having been said there are some things about selling speakers to pawn shops that you need to consider.
First of all, we’ve got to address the fact that not all pawn shops take speakers.
A lot of them do, there’s no question. However not all of them do and because of that it’s going to be a good idea to spend a few minutes and lookup the local pawn shops on Google to give them a call and make sure that they take speakers in for loan or as straight out sales.
The best way to do that is to simply go to Google.com and search the phrase “Local Pawn Shops.” Google will return a list of pawn shops in your area that you can go through one-by-one and call them.
Things you want to ask the pawn shop are if they take speakers of course, and if they do, do they only take in certain brands or will they look at just about any type of speaker that’s out there.
That will give you a good idea on if you will be able to work with your local pawn shops on selling your speakers to them or not.
Most pawn shops will be happy to look at your speakers and make you an offer for them should you decide to sell them.
How Much Do They Pay
Well, that’s going to depend on a lot of things to be very honest. Not all pawn shops are going to pay the same thing for all speakers.
In part, how much a pawn shop pays for your speakers will depend on their local demand for those speakers.
Apart from that, one of the things that they will often do is look up the speakers on a site like eBay to determine what similar used speakers in the same condition as yours might typically sell for.
Going by that price is going to give them a fair idea of what they may be able to sell your speakers for if they are buying them from you, or if they are just making a loan against them for you.
They will then probably offer you between 40-60% of whatever that value is that they were able to determine on eBay.
Tips For Pawning Speakers
Speakers are a pretty straight forward affair but you will want to do a few things before you head down to your local pawn shop to sell them.
Clean Them Up – Like everything else that you are considering making a loan against or selling, it’s always a good idea to clean the speakers up and make them look as new as possible. This is probably work in your favor when the pawn broker is determining just how much they can loan you against your speakers.
Make Sure They Work – The last thing you really want to do is get all the way down to the pawn shop just to find out that your speakers don’t work when they test them. It’s embarrassing and a waste of your time. So take a few minutes and make sure that your speakers are working properly before taking them in.
Bring Any Documentation You Have – If you have any paperwork for your speakers showing what they are or what they may have sold for when new, that might help you. This is especially true for older/collectible speakers that may not be incredibly familiar to pawn shops upon initial inspection.
Following these simple tips can help you have a positive experience when you go to your local pawn broker looking for a loan or to sell your speakers.
